MIND BATTLES..!
Stitches, marks, nails, blood, disgust, panic, aggression, mental illness, no peace of mind, yet a strong believe.
I never believed that a person who tortured me everyday would love me someday. Strange to believe, isn't it?
In this fast growing world where science and technology shows full fledge power there are few people yet existing getting tortured or molested.
I recently was cleaning my bookshelf where I came across a book which I read months ago.. "The Color Purple". The name suggests written by "Alice Walker"
Our main protagonist of the novel Celie faces molestation all her life may it be from her father, her husband, and later from the children that were of her husband's ex spouses. 13 and pregnant, can you imagine the sort of torture the little girl might had faced because the person who she could trust on was the one who had been constantly criticizing and raping her..
But does molestation just give us hatred towards people or more than that..
It destroys the inner peace of a person. She/He feels bad about herself/himself.
In Celie's case she describes her disgust for men and also jealously for the mistress that her husband brings in her presence. "Shug Avery" a beautiful white women who is bold enough to keep her thoughts and one who is perfect in dressing. Do you think Celie should have gotten jealous..? I believe if we were at her place we would have dealt in our Indian way..
Shug Avery being a mistress teaches Celie to grow not just by outer appearance but by inner too. She teaches her a way of respecting herself. Finally Celie who felt irritated and may I say one form of molested by Shug Avery (since she was the mistress) falls in love with her.

There are many more untold stories where a man or a woman faces molestation. I would ask you all warriors to be strong and speak up for yourself. Your identity is more pure than the one who has been doing evil with you. We all stand with you. May you also find get over it soon with or without your Shug Avery.
Molestation can be in any form by touch, by words, by brutally beating someone, as long as your mental state is suffered you are getting molested.

Do you think world expects something more than love from us?
Do you think Celie was wrong when she actually made love with someone who taught her the actual meaning of safe touch?
Have you ever been molested by your close one or a stranger and then fell in love with them?

DeleteWhat Shug avery did to her was not molestation.
ReplyDeleteShe helped her valuing herself.
Don't merge her with other molesters.
Molestation is a crime and cannot be other than that.
Good observation though.
keep it up.👍👍
Shug Avery was the one because of whom she felt like an option. Being Albert's wife she should had been sure about their relation but yet seeing Shug Avery she thought that her worth is getting reduced..She felt like a competition and that too for what.getting constantly raped? So, anything causing your peace of mind disturbed is a molestation
